It’s undeniable that <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/sam-darnold">Sam Darnold</a> may be experiencing one of the best stretches of his career. However, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing for the Seahawks quarterback. “I think just being able to handle it at this point of my career too, I feel like, even mentally, I handle it a little differently internally than I used to. Because I realize it is part of the journey, it is part of who I am,” Darnold said. 



“… I invested a little more thought into what happened in the past—I threw this pick against this coverage back in 2019, I’m not going to do that again, no, sometimes mistakes happen. You learn from it, and you don’t want to make the same mistakes again, but sometimes throughout your career, especially if its a long career, those things are going to happen.

And the days in New York, the days in Carolina, those were part of my journey, and they’re part of my experience and I loved every single part of it. Yeah there were some lows that (expletive), I’m not gonna lie to ya, and that’s part of it though. I learned so much from that and I’m able to move on.”

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Greg Roman is one of three coaches going into in-person interviews with the Jets. Roman formerly coached <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/lamar-jackson" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Lamar Jackson</a> to become a unanimous MVP in 2019. Then, he was Justin Herbert’s OC in the Chargers for the last two years.



According to Fowler, there were five interviews done virtually, but the list narrowed down to just three now. Roman is quite an intriguing name, as he defies what many teams are looking for.



<h2>Greg Roman is an old school yet smart coach</h2>



Roman is an old-school coach who has been under the Harbaugh tree pretty much his whole career. Nowadays, it’s creativity and QBs shining what gets you a job as OC. Roman is more pragmatic and traditional.

Still, Roman is no stranger to make a QB shine. It’s just not as flashy. There is nothing secure yet, but Roman is surely one of the most intriguing candidates.

A former Super Bowl champion might be the one arriving to the team’s facility.



According to the team’s website, the Jets interviewed Frank Reich for the offensive coordinator vacancy. Reich won the Super Bowl as the Eagles offensive coordinator in 2017. He was then the head coach of the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/indianapolis-colts" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Indianapolis Colts</a> and Carolina Panthers, before going to Stanford, where he served as interim head coach and then as a senior advisor.



Reich is known as a great offensive mind in the business. Head coach <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/aaron-glenn" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Aaron Glenn</a> relieved Tanner Engstrand from his offensive coordinator role after just one season, where the former Detroit Lions passing game coordinator failed to deliver. The Jets offense ranked 29th in total yards, dead-last in passing yards, and 29th in scoring.



<h2>Reich has the resume, but is still a risky move</h2>



The last time we saw Frank Reich in the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NFL</a>, he was being fired after 11 games by Carolina, in which his team went 1-10. This is the fourth shortest head coach stint in NFL history (not interims taken into consideration). After that, it’s been three years since he hasn’t been in the league and that might be troublesome.

The Chiefs recently missed out on the possibility of bringing back a familiar face in <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/bailey-zappe">Bailey Zappe</a>, who was signed to a reserve/future contract by the New York Jets on Monday.



Zappe, drafted by the New England Patriots as a fourth-round pick in 2022, spent time with the Chiefs’ practice squad in 2024 and 2025, leaving the scout team for the Cleveland Browns both years.
