All Philadelphia Eagles fans are shaking in fear right now. They saw how one of their best players, Landon Dickerson, suffered an injury. New reports had shed light on his injury and that might have an impact on Jalen Hurts‘ form as we approach the start of the NFL season.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Landon Dickerson is thought to have suffered a meniscus injury. Dickerson is trying to get new options to determine his next steps. That can be what determines how much he will be out.
According to a subsequent report, the best-case scenario is that Dickerson unergoes a “minor procedure” on his right knee. This would put Dickerson on a week-to-week basis as the team hopes he returns for the NFL Kick-Off game on September 4th vs. the Cowboys.
Dickerson is a staple on the Eagles offense
The Eagles offensive line has widely been regarded as one of the best units in the NFL. Dickerson, who enters his fifth year in the league, has been a Pro Bowler three times already. His work opening running lanes or protecting Hurts is spectacular.
Dickerson has played 63 games out of 68 possible outings. He was drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He has established himself as arguably the best left guard in the whole league.
The Eagles start to the season is heavy
The Eagles should be praying for Dickerson to be ready. The first five weeks of their schedule is as tough as it comes for the defending Super Bowl champions. This is how September looks for Philadelphia:
- Week 1: vs. Cowboys
- Week 2: at Kansas City
- Week 3: vs. Rams
- Week 4: at Tampa Bay
- Week 5: vs. Broncos
