When you create college hype and you get drafted high in the first round, fans will want to see you ball. Running back Ashton Jeanty was drafted sixth overall by the Las Vegas Raiders and Pete Carroll after having a historic College Football season with Boise State. Fans were craving to see him play but his preseason debut was not awe-inspiring.

Jeanty rushed for -1 yards on three attempts. Needless to say, fans were disappointed by the rookie’s performance. Raiders fans are not happy and especially on X, you know they would voice their opinions.

From sarcastic tweets like “Ashton Jeanty went OFF!” to “YOU have more rushing yards in the NFL than Ashton Jeanty,” the fans are concerned and are humorously joking about it.

Jeanty will be a good running back

Nevertheless, Jeanty’s stock shouldn’t suffer too many hits after a meaningless preseason game where he barely played as well. Jeanty is focusing on the NFL regular season. Even some fans defended the Boise State running back.

The tweet above does have a point. The Raiders offensive line is not one to brag about. On that clip, Jeanty even escapes one open tackle as soon as he got the handoff. Then, he was blasted as the offensive line collapsed fastly.

Who are the other running backs on the Raiders?

Jeanty is not the only new running back on the Raiders depth chart. Besides the rookie, Pete Carroll and his staff also brought veteran Raheem Mostert. The former Dolphin is one of the fastest players in the NFL and he will have plenty of snaps too.

Welcoming both new faces, Zamir White, who was drafted by the team in 2022. White’s best year was 2023, where he racked up 549 scrimmage yards and one total touchdown. Last season, he had 183 yards and only played 8 games due to injury.
