The Aaron Rodgers saga with the Pittsburgh Steelers continues to add chapters. With uncertainty surrounding the future of the former Super Bowl champion, NFL Insider Ian Rapoport offered a key statement concerning Mike Tomlin‘s team.

During a recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Rapoport was clear in stating that the Steelers remain highly confident that Rodgers will join their franchise, and that it’s only a matter of time before it eventually happens.

“The Steelers are confident and they think that Aaron Rodgers will be in Pittsburgh.. I think that he will be a member of the Steelers,” the insider firmly stated.

Although Mike Tomlin already has a new QB to work with for the upcoming season after selecting Will Howard in the latest draft, the Steelers are still keeping their options open as they remain hopeful of adding the former Jets and Packers quarterback to their roster.

After several weeks of negotiations and meetings between both parties, could Aaron Rodgers’ potential arrival be the missing piece for the Steelers to once again make a Super Bowl run?

Searching for the ideal QB for the upcoming season

The departures of Russell Wilson and Justin Fields have left Mike Tomlin with the tough task of finding a suitable replacement for the upcoming season. The long-rumored target has been none other than Aaron Rodgers, though his situation remains up in the air.

First, the return of Mason Rudolph was confirmed, who joined Skylar Thompson on the roster. Then came the arrival of Will Howard, a promising young talent who just capped off a championship season with the Ohio State Buckeyes in the NCAAF. The options are there, but what will Head Coach ultimately decide?

It’s clear that all signs point to Rodgers ultimately taking the reins of a team that is desperately looking to return to the top of the league and, perhaps, even dream of making another Super Bowl appearance.
