Endrick and Brazil celebrate one last win before 2026 World Cup after 2-1 victory over Egypt

Brazil will focus on the 2026 World Cup after a narrow 2-1 victory over Egypt. Young sensation Endrick gave Brazil the win with a left-footed strike.

Brazil played two friendlies ahead of the 2026 World Cup and won both. After beating Egypt 2-1 thanks to Endrick, it’s time for the Scratch du Oro to focus on getting their sixth world title.

There is some concern for Brazil though. While they dominated 70% of the match, Egypt had a lot of lapses with the ball on their feet. Also, all eyes are on right back Wesley, who had to exit with an injury. Brazil come as the head of the table in Group C, but this is a tough one to win as the Canarinha will battle Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland during the Group Phase.

As for Egypt, they play Iran, Belgium, and New Zealand in Group G of the 2026 World Cup. Alongside with Belgium, Egypt could see themselves as one of the candidates to go through. Even with a loss against Brazil, they showed glimpses of what they can do if given space. However, they need to get more creative when playing in the opposing half. Still, not a bad outing from the Pharaohs.

Brazil gets a final win before the 2026 World Cup. Egypt showed they are prepared to compete and have a top-tier goalkeeper.

90+3' - Egypt scares Brazil from distance! (2-1)

Zizo tried his luck curling a left-footed shot from outside the box to Weverton's far post, but the shot was just wide of the target!

90' - Five more minutes until the end of the game (2-1)

Five minutes for Egypt to push for the draw.

87' - Shobeir intercepts what could've been Brazil's third goal! (2-1)

His name hasn't been as prominent in the second half, but Shobeir just made a clutch interception as Martinelli awaited a ball that could've given him a premiere chance to score the third goal.

84' - Cunha threatened with the counter and got fouled hard! (2-1)

Brazil got the ball, contacted with Matheus Cunha who pushed the ball forward and was ready to sprint in a dangerous counter-attack. 

But not on Ibrahim's watch who slid and tackled the Brazilian hard to stop the play with a foul.

80' - The last 10 minutes of the game are here! (2-1)

Egypt is attacking without much danger.

Ten minutes are left for them to tie the game.

78' - Once again, Egypt with the ball, yet no danger (2-1)

There is a serious issue of lack of ideas when Egypt's got the ball.

There are no through balls, no crosses, no off-ball movement. Brazil is comfortable defending that.

75' - Egypt's goalscorer is subbed off! (2-1)

A plethora of substitutions are made by Egypt, including taking out the guy who scored the goal for them in the first half, Ziko.

71' - Game resumes after the cooling break with more substitutions (2-1)

The game enters the last 20 minutes of action.

Time off for the players to rehydrate themselves and get some instructions from the managers for the last stretch of the game.

However, it doesn't pose a threat to Brazil. It's not an aggressive possession by the African side.

Luiz Henrique is causing huge problems for Egypt, he goes through the defenders, sends a cross and Raphina is inches away from getting to the ball.

Literally any touch would've meant a goal for Brazil. Ties stays on.

Young sensation Endrick gets the first shot of the second half, but it got deflected by a defender.

Plethora of substitutions to start the second half, including Salah for Egypt as expected.

Igor Thiago gets his chance but his left-footed shot finds the same trouble as all Brazil efforts: Shobeir!

The Egyptian GK is by far the man of the match as of now.

32' - Shobeir denies Raphinha again (1-1)

Raphinha is dribbling every Egyptian defender on his way!

Tries his luck with a strong, driven shot but Shobeir manages to send it to the corner!

30' - Brazil is having a monologue now! (1-1)

Brazil is the lord of the ball right now. Egypt is just trying to catch up at this point.

The Pharaos are surviving.

27' - Vini Jr. and Raphinha creating mayhem! (1-1)

This time it was Vini Jr. assisting Raphinha as the Barcelona man tries his luck but his shot ended up weak and straight to Shobeir.

Still, when Vini and Raphinha get together, good things happen for Brazil.

This game! What a through ball by Raphinha to Vini Jr. who tries to finish with the outside of the foot, but the Egyptian keeper saves it!

Igor Thiago was all alone in the far post but Vini Jr. didn't pass it to him.

It's the halfway mark of the first half, so it's time for a cooling break as Cleveland is hot!

22' - Marquinhos' nightmare game continues with a booking! (1-1)

After gifting away Egypt's goal, now Marquinhos gets a yellow card after fouling Marmoush.

Not the best start for the PSG defender.

Things have slowed down a bit after Wesley's injury, but it's Brazil the team trying to attack with more intensity.

Big mistake by Egypt trying to control the ball in the early portions of the field, Bruno Guimaraes pressures, he takes the ball off Lasheen, and then places it perfectly in the bottom right corner!

Egypt is not here to play victim, they've got speed and they just had a chance with a cross-shot. Unfortunately Marmoush couldn't close in the far post.

3' - Paqueta asks for a penalty after a deflated shot (0-0)

Vini finds Paqueta on the box and the former AC Milan player shoots far wide, but he complains telling the referee there was a foul.

Ref says no.
