Since Barcelona announced that Lionel Messi wouldn’t continue in the club on Thursday, it’s been five days of absolute madness in the soccer world. However, it seems likePSG will be the Argentinian’s future team and the contract is already made.

Messi leaving Barcelona has come as a shock for many, as everything indicated that the player and the Catalans would sign a new contract. However, La Liga’s salary cap rules and the financial crisis of the club prevented Messi from playing another season in the Camp Nou as it was his wish.

In a tearful press conference, the 34-year old and six Ballon D’Or winner said that the PSG was a “possibility” when talking about his future. While the Argentinian didn’t want to give away details about a possible deal with the Parisians, the press has knowledge of a contract proposition between the sides.

How much did PSG offer to Messi?

According to Fabrizio Romano of CBC Sports, PSG’s contract for Messi was prepared directly between chairman and president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and sporting director Leonardo Araújo. The contract proposal would be a three-year deal with a salary of $29.4 million (€25 million) net per season, plus add-ons up to a maximum $41.2 million (€35 million).

Romano also affirms that Messi is willing to accept but there’s still some details to resolve. However, it seems that the full agreement is almost closed and in the coming days, PSG will announce the deal. According to a tweet from Argentinian journalist Veronica Brunati, Messi will travel to Paris on Wednesday.

In Paris, PSG fans were awaiting Messi at the Le Bourget airport, as it was expected that he would travel to Paris today, but that didn’t happen. Also, it was reported that the PSG booked the Eiffel Tower for this Tuesday, August 10, to present him.
