After a long road that had a few stops due to the covid-19 pandemic, the Concacaf Nations League is at the final stages of the tournament that began way back in 2019. On Thursday June 3rd, Honduras - United States and Mexico - Costa Rica will battle for a place in the finals.

The oddsmakers at DraftKings have placed the USMNT and El Tri as the heavy favorites, but don’t discount Honduras and Costa Rica just yet. The Concacaf Nations League has had many surprises along the way and an upset could happen if a few balls bounce one way.

The USMNT enter their game after a disappointing defeat at the hands of Switzerland and El Tri won their match against Iceland, in a come from behind victory 2-1. Here are possible picks, odds, and parlays for the Concacaf Nations League semifinals!

Honduras - United States

Honduras enters this match as a +900 underdog to the USMNT -225. Los Catrachos last played in March in a 2-1 defeat to Greece, while the United States dropped a up and down match to Switzerland, showing flashes of all the hype surrounding the team. One of the main betting options that could interest bettors is who will be winning by halftime, a tie, is at +120 and could be an interesting option given the USMNT flaky defense.

The stats do not favor Honduras in this match, as the USMNT has 16 wins to Honduras 4 all-time. And given the USMNT history of scoring a lot of goals against Concacaf opposition, an over 3.5 bet at +225 could be a safe and intelligent option for this match.

Mexico - Costa Rica

The situation for Costa Rica could not be more dire, Los Ticos did not win a game all of 2020 and continued that trend in 2021. Rightfully so they are +625 underdogs. Mexico on the other hand have continued their overall dominance under Tata Martino and are without question the favorite to win the competition.

Betting against Mexico would not be in the bettors’ best interest but betting that El Tri will be in the lead at halftime, or the game will have over 3.5 goals are more than healthy bets. A Mexico halftime lead is at -670 and 3.5 goals is at +300.

Parlays

The only reliable parlay for these matches is a USMNT win and a Mexico win, setting up another US-MEX rivalry match for the final. If a bettor places $100 on that parlay they stand to win $217, so if you have a gut feeling that the two biggest teams in Concacaf will face off yet again, bet high.
