Jon Scheyer and the Duke Blue Devils couldnāt finish the job last season. Despite being considered the best team in college basketball and having the best player in the nation, they still fell short.
It feels like they couldāve achieved great things had Cooper Flagg chosen to stay in college. Even so, while his time on campus was short-lived, it was still significant.
However, now that heās gone to the Dallas Mavericks, his former coach can finally take some friendly jabs at him, and thatās what he did in an appearance on Justin Robinsonās āThe Brotherhoodā podcast.
Jon Scheyer says he beat Cooper Flagg in Horse
āWeāre gonna start off with a guy you know really well, Cooper Flagg. He reached out,ā Robinson said. āHe asked, how amazing was it to coach Cooper Flagg?ā

Head coach Jon Scheyer of the Duke Blue Devils speaks with Cooper Flagg.
āYou know, and thatās, when we said we were gonna do this, I wasnāt thinking about getting questions from Cooper,ā Scheyer responded. āThe fact that he has a question [ā¦] I donāt know how amazing I wanna say it was, but, it was amazing beating him in a horse. Yeah. Every day after practice.ā
Cooper Flagg might be the first-overall pick and about to become an NBA superstar, but it seems like Coach Scheyer will forever hold bragging rights over him.
