The Duke Blue Devils had the most-talked-about player in all of college basketball this season. Cooper Flagg was a one-man show, even in a team stacked with talent.
Thatās why now that heās taken his talents to the Dallas Mavericks, thereās a big void in Jon Scheyerās team. The Blue Devils lost five players to the NBA Draft, and thatās going to be hard to overcome.
Even so, NCAA analyst Matt Norlander of CBS Sports doesnāt seem to be that worried. In his latest column, he argued that freshman Cameron Boozer would be more than capable of picking up the slack because of his Duke heritage.
Duke will be just fine with Cameron Boozer
āThereās not been a player that has been affected and literally won more than Cameron Boozer,ā Norlander argued. āHe brings a high degree of winning. Obviously, thereās a pedigree with his father having played at Duke.ā

Of course, every player is unique, and Boozer and Flagg are both great and promising in their own ways. Even so, itās nice to know that the Blue Devils will have someone to pick up the slack.
Boozer will be joined by his twin brother Cayden, who, despite not being as highly-touted as a prospect as he is, is also projected to be a lottery pick and an impactful player in Durham.
