Ahead of the 2025 NCAA season, Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns will strive to meet and surpass the sky-high expectations placed on both the redshirt sophomore quarterback and the prestigious program. According to reports, Texas is expected to bring in a former coach of Caleb Williams, who also worked alongside Pete Carroll, to help develop the 19-year-old signal-caller.
Manning is one of the most talked-about talents in college football—not just in recent memory, but of all time. For better or worse, that’s the reality of wearing the last name Manning on the back of a jersey. Whether he likes it or not, the spotlight is on him.
However, Arch has made a name for himself, with his reputation built largely on his abilities and charisma—though his connection to the all-time greats in his family tree has undoubtedly played a role as well.
Yet, when the 19-year-old steps onto the field in Austin and across the SEC, he is on his own—no Peyton, Eli, Cooper, or Archie to help him. It’s just Arch, the Longhorns squad, and the coaching staff.

Caleb Williams #18 of the Chicago Bears warms up before the game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on January 05, 2025 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
That’s exactly where the University of Texas aims to support him, by bringing in a quarterback coach who has been surrounded by greatness and can help Arch take the next step during the 2025 NCAA campaign.

Arch Manning looks on during his recruiting visit to Clemson University before the game between the Clemson Tigers and the Florida State Seminoles at Clemson Memorial Stadium on October 30, 2021 in Clemson, South Carolina.
However, the soon-to-be incoming freshman is still contemplating his options. If he were to join the Longhorns, instead of the Aggies, it would send a bold message across the Lone Star State, as the two rival schools battle for a high-end talent in the upcoming recruiting class.
