Former NFL player Will Blackmon urges Titans to take a major gamble

After a rough season, the Tennessee Titans need a bold move to turn things around. Former NFL player Will Blackmon believes the franchise should take a gamble on a surprising player to boost its chances of improvement this season.

The Tennessee Titans endured a challenging season, finishing with a disappointing record and missing the playoffs. Injuries, inconsistent quarterback play, and offensive struggles held them back. While the defense had its moments, the offense lacked firepower and never found a rhythm. With that in mind, former NFL player Will Blackmon weighed in on a key move the Titans should prioritize to immediately change their trajectory.

ā€œIf he [Cam Ward] went there (Tennessee Titans) and he was in the AFC South, I think he would have some opportunities to make plays there…But I think for Tennessee, you know you have the new GM, you go get your guy, you go get your quarterback right now, and you just reset the franchise, especially on the offensive side of the ball, and get it going out,ā€ stated Will Blackmon on Speak.

Blackmon also addressed the Titans’ current quarterback situation, specifically regarding Will Levis. ā€œIf I was Tennessee, get your quarterback…Figure out what you’re going to do with Levis, if he’s going to stay or move on, if there’s any suitors, but go get your quarterback now and get this rolling because the AFC South is wide open every single year, so, you need your guy,ā€ stated Will Blackmon on Speak.

The AFC South lacks a dominant team, giving the Titans a real opportunity to reshape their roster. They have a chance to position themselves as contenders. Targeting a quarterback like Cam Ward could give them a fresh start. It might also provide long-term stability at the position. The team must decide whether to stick with Levis or pursue Ward. This choice could shape their future in a wide-open division.

Could Cam Ward acquisition make the Titans a real NFL playoff contender?

Despite Cam Ward adquisition would be interesting, one player alone will not guarantee a playoff run. The Titans need consistency, better depth, and improved play on both sides of the ball. The AFC is stacked with strong teams, making the path to the postseason difficult.

If this move helps them close the gap and they stay healthy, they could fight for a playoff spot. But they will need more than just one big name to become a true contender.
