Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs may have found one of the best players in the 2025 draft in Josh Simmons. Thatās what Jason Kelce, former Super Bowl champion with the Eagles, said on his podcast New Heights.
āBig boy. I absolutely love this guy on tape. The way he moves reminds me a lot of some high level players. The way he bends. Heās big. Heās strong. He moves people. Heās an outstanding pass blocker.ā
One of the key points for the Chiefs is strengthening their offensive line to protect Patrick Mahomes. Last season, it was their biggest problem, and now they have to deal with the loss of Joe Thuney, who was traded to Chicago.
Who did Chiefs draft?
The Kansas City Chiefs selected offensive tackle Josh Simmons in the first round of the 2025 Draft, and as Jason Kelce mentioned to his brother Travis during the podcast, a previous injury is what kept the Ohio State star from being picked much earlier.
āThis was one of the biggest steals in the Draft. Iām not just saying that because theyāre both our teams. I really think if Josh Simmons doesnāt tear his patellar tendon, heās the first tackle off the board most likely. The fact that the Chiefs got him at 32 could be like unbelievable value if he comes back from the knee injury. Weāre going to have to wait and see how this kid comes back from this injury.ā
