NFL News: J.J. Watt responds whether Aaron Rodgers will be new Steelers QB and if T.J. Watt will sign contract extension

J.J. Watt made headlines during a special appearance when asked two burning questions Steelers fans are dying to know: Could Aaron Rodgers really end up in Pittsburgh? And is a contract extension on the horizon for his brother, T.J. Watt?

J.J. Watt faced several questions during a special appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. One of them, since he is the brother of T.J., star of the Pittsburgh Steelers, was whether Aaron Rodgers will be the quarterback of that team next season.

ā€œI mean, I don’t have any inside information. I would assume the same as everybody else. It will most likely be Aaron Rodgers. No. I’m not (hearing anything from the inside sources). I’m literally not, but, I would assume, that seems to be the way that all directions are pointing.ā€

The former Houston Texans player did not give any hints about whether his brother has mentioned anything to him regarding the possibility of playing alongside the Super Bowl champion quarterback. The uncertainty around the topic continues.

Will Steelers give a contract extension to T.J. Watt?

That was the other big question for J.J. Watt. Although he didn’t want to go into details about the negotiation, the legend made it very clear that these kinds of matters need to be resolved early to keep the players happy.

ā€œI have a lot of information on that subject. That’s just not my subject to discuss. I’ve long been a big believer that ownership and front offices obviously treats this like a business, but they do not like it when the players flip the script on them and treat it like a business back. Taking care of your guys earlier does a few things for you. It gets them locked in at a lower price in the long run. Number two, you’re keeping them happy.ā€
