Terry McLaurin has not yet reached an agreement to sign a contract extension with the Washington Commanders. Despite all the uncertainty and the trade request made by the player, Jayden Daniels was confident that the wide receiver will stay with the team during an interview with Dianna Russini.
āOh, 100%. I feel great. I just know that itās all going to work out. That both sides will come to an agreement and Terryās going to be back out here. Weāre going to be throwing some passes to him.ā
After Danielsā spectacular rookie season, which took the team to the NFC Championship Game, the Commanders are now seen as potential Super Bowl contenders. They need McLaurin to make it happen.
Is Terry McLaurin a free agent?
Terry McLaurin is not a free agent. However, he is signed just through the 2025 season and thatās why the star wide receiver wants a contract extension to be paid in a similar benchmark as top names such as Justin Jefferson, CeeDee Lamb or JaāMarr Chase.
If McLaurin doesnāt strike a deal in the upcoming weeks, the player would become a free agent in 2026. In this scenario, the Commanders would still have the chance to franchise tag him.
