In 2023, the Jets made a bold trade with the Packers to acquire Aaron Rodgers. They needed a veteran quarterback to guide the team, and the Super Bowl XLV champion was their main target.

While he tore his Achilles in his debut season, Rodgers didn’t deliver the results expected in 2024. This prompted his exit from the club this offseason, and now Justin Fields has entered as his replacement.

New York parted ways with Aaron Rodgers this offseason. In the search for a new quarterback, they found Justin Fields available at an affordable price, making him the replacement for the Super Bowl XLV champion.

There are many doubts about Justin Fields, who couldn’t live up to expectations with the Bears. Nevertheless, the Jets believe he could step up as their main leader, but they are aware that he needs more weapons to succeed.

According to several rumors, the Jets are not interested in trading up in the 2025 NFL Draft. The club is currently comfortable with their 7th overall pick, which they are set to use to add a key player to Justin Fields’ offense.

The Jets are set to use their 7th overall pick to select Penn State TE Tyler Warren, per Dov Kleiman. The tight end is regarded as the No. 1 prospect at his position and could become a key partner for the quarterback in the 2025 season.

In several mock drafts, Warren is the first tight end to be called in the 2025 NFL Draft. Nevertheless, the Jets could still change course if a vacancy opens up to target a new quarterback, as Fields is not regarded as their long-term solution at the position.
