The Tennessee Titans have had a 2025 NFL offseason marked by a major overhaul both on the field and in the front office. Following a disappointing 3-14 campaign, the team has started making significant moves. In this case, they signed a former Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys player who previously shared a locker room with stars Dak Prescott and Jared Goff.
The Titans already acquired quarterback Cam Ward with the first overall pick, betting on his potential to lead the offense. They also bolstered the offensive line by signing left tackle Dan Moore Jr. to an $82 million deal and guard Kevin Zeitler, aiming to protect their new quarterback and improve the running game.
It’s clear that Tennessee wants to bring in experienced players, which is why they’ve looked to strong teams like the Lions and the Cowboys. At the same time, having shared a locker room with Goff and Prescott could be beneficial for his adjustment.
Who is the new player for the Titans?
The Titans have signed free agent cornerback Amani Oruwariye, according to NFL insider Jeremy Fowler of ESPN on his X account (formerly Twitter). This will be his sixth year as a pro, and he arrives in Tennessee after spending last season with Prescott’s Cowboys.
When did Jared Goff and Oruwariye play on the same team?
Oruwariye entered the NFL after being drafted by Detroit in 2019. He played 53 games (34 starts) over four years and recorded 143 tackles. The 29-year-old player has been teammates with Goff since the 30-year-old quarterback joined the franchise in 2021.

Oruwariye’s stint with the Cowboys
After his stint with the Lions, Oruwariye had a brief run with Dallas. With the franchise led by owner Jerry Jones, he appeared in seven games and recorded 29 combined tackles. His limited playing time was marked by a costly mistake in Week 14, during a matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, when the former Prescott teammate attempted to recover a blocked punt but lost the ball—allowing the Bengals to retain possession and score a decisive touchdown.
