Julian Edelman, a New England Patriots legend, spoke about Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers during a special appearance on The Herd. For the former wide receiver, the 2025 version of Mike Tomlin’s team will be very solid.

“I think they’re going to be a solid football team. As they always are. I think they’ll be a little better than last year. Do I think they’re gonna win a Super Bowl? No. I love Mike Tomlin, I love the culture, I love the defense. I like Arthur Smith, but, how fast can they get that machine going? Aaron doesn’t know his teammates at all yet. Once again, he’s going into another year behind. When he did that last time, they didn’t have a good first eight weeks. Then, he started to turn it on at the end because he started to know his teammates.”

Last season, the Steelers finished with a 10-7 record after trying their luck with Justin Fields and Russell Wilson. The result was disappointing, with an early playoff exit against the Ravens. The franchise hasn’t won in the postseason in over eight years.

Julian Edelman makes Steelers prediction with Aaron Rodgers

Julian Edelman is convinced that the move to sign Aaron Rodgers is the right one for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The best available option. However, he reiterated that this won’t make them take the leap to compete in the AFC with the Chiefs, Bills, or Ravens.

“I like the move. It’s the best thing for the Steelers right now. Aaron, he’s going to a team that’s not terrible. If he wants to continue his football career, that’s awesome. He gets an opportunity to do it at one of the pillars of the NFL. They were 29th in offensive line last year. They didn’t address it at all. They have the same offensive line. Are they gonna win the Super Bowl? I don’t think so.”
