Aaron Rodgers understands what it means to play for a franchise like the Steelers in a historic city like Pittsburgh. The quarterback admitted that he is excited to live this experience and sent a very special message to the fans, including a nod to the famous song ‘Renegade’. He is absolutely ready to enjoy it.

“This is a blue-collar town. The history of this great area built the structure of the country. So, a lot of great people here. Great fan base. We played here over the years. They even got their own song they play late in the third or in the fourth quarter. It’s a special place to play sports. Just great blue-collar people and I’m excited to meet some of the fans along the way.”

It won’t be easy for Rodgers to win over Pittsburgh’s fans, since many doubt a 41-year-old player can bring them a seventh Super Bowl. Moreover, the time he took to make his decision didn’t help build a stronger relationship with them.

How much are Steelers paying Aaron Rodgers?

Aaron Rodgers signed a $13.65 million contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers ($10 million guaranteed). Additionally, considering incentives such as making the playoffs, winning the Super Bowl, or the MVP award, the total could reach up to $19.5 million.

According to several reports, Rodgers chose not to ask for more money so the team could address other needs and build a competitive roster to contend for the championship.
