The New Orleans Saints were battling on the gridiron against the Los Angeles Chargers in a preseason game. During the workouts ahead of the game, wide receiver Chris Tyree couldn’t participate due to an injury.

He was seen before the game with the team, though he was wearing street clothes. At halftime of that same matchup, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reported that Tyree was waived with an injury designation. That move will put him on injured reserve.

Tyree was fighting for a spot on the Saints final roster but now he won’t have the chance. He is a rookie out of Virginia but unfortunately for him, he wasn’t able to impress the coaching staff.

Chris Olave needs to be his better self

Last season, the Saints saw how their best wideout, Chris Olave, missed much of the season with injuries and concussions. Olave, prior to that, was one of the best receivers in the NFL. He was a target machine and he became a problem. However, Olave is now dealing with another injury, though it’s minor.

With Olave, healthy, the Saints receiving room could be way better. The team brought in veteran Brandin Cooks and still have Rashid Shaheed on the roster. Shaheed only played six games last year but averaged a solid 58.2 yards per game and three touchdowns. He is a decent option on the slot.

Rattler started the game and completed 7/11 passes for 53 yards. Then Shough was the one who made the most of his time. He completed 15/22 passes, 165 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Though his touchdown was a 54-yard bomb. Then, Haener made 5/8 passes for 41 yards and one interception. The competition is still wide open as the NFL season approaches.
