Shedeur Sanders has been one of the most talked-about prospects from the 2025 NFL Draft class, with the quarterback being linked to multiple teams after his final year in college football. The Pittsburgh Steelers, the New York Giants, and Cleveland Browns were just a handful of them.
The Colorado Buffaloes product is aware that many franchises set their sights on him ahead of the big event in Green Bay, but he made sure to let the entire NFL know his mindset before his first pro year with a seven-word warning.
“I’m built for whatever today may bring,” Sanders wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter) only a few hours before Day One of the 2025 NFL Draft. Shedeur is clearly ready to go, but which team will ultimately select him?
Steelers appear to be realistic option for Sanders
The Steelers have been strongly linked with Sanders this offseason, especially in the final weeks leading to the Draft. With Aaron Rodgers undecided about his future, the 2025 NFL Draft emerged as a serious route for Mike Tomlin to find his next franchise quarterback.

Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders (2) relaxes during a timeout in the second half of the football game between Colorado and North Dakota State in Boulder, CO.
The Steelers had Sanders for a visit and Tomlin is believed to be a huge fan of the Colorado sensation. Pittsburgh holds the No. 21 pick though, which is why many expect the team to trade up if it wants to secure Sanders.

Will Giants prevent Steelers from landing Shedeur?
The Giants may have signed both Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston this offseason, but they could use a young quarterback for the long term. And their third overall pick might be good enough to get them one of the best prospects from 2025.
New York has done its due diligence on Sanders, with scouts reportedly watching him throughout the 2024 NCAA season before having him for a private workout in April. Will the Giants bet on Shedeur at No. 3?
Don’t rule out the Browns for Sanders
Another possible landing spot for Sanders could be Cleveland, with the Browns owining the second-overall pick this year. The Tennessee Titans are expected to draft Cam Ward at No. 1, but the Browns’ intention at No. 2 remains uncertain.
The team added two experienced quarterbacks to the depth chart in Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco, pouring cold water on the Sanders rumors. Still, Sanders would be a younger, and perhaps more promising alternative at the position.

The Saints could also be a possibility
Apart from the Steelers, Giants, and Browns, another team to watch for Sanders could be the Saints. New Orleans will select at No. 9, and with Derek Carr injured, chances are that it will be interested in a QB. Word on the street is they prefer Jaxson Dart, but we’ll have to wait and see.
