Steelers and Rooney family send clear message about team’s Super Bowl potential with Aaron Rodgers

The Pittsburgh Steelers are aiming high in 2025, and the message from ownership couldn't be clearer. With Aaron Rodgers now leading the charge, team leadership believes a Super Bowl run is within reach.

Aaron Rodgers will try to lead the Pittsburgh Steelers to win the seventh Super Bowl in the franchise’s history. The challenge will be huge, considering the team hasn’t won a playoff game in eight years.

With a revamped roster featuring names like DK Metcalf, Jonnu Smith, Darius Slay, and Jalen Ramsey, the first goal is to dominate a very tough division against rivals like the Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals.

After that, the big question is whether Rodgers is the missing piece that can help Pittsburgh take the leap and compete against the AFC favorites, the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Can the Steelers win the Super Bowl?

According to Dan Rooney III, the Steelers have a chance to win the Super Bowl during the 2025 season. These were the words of the man who could be the future owner of the team in an interview with Renee Washington.

“It’s just exciting to continue to bring in talent into the Steelers. So, we are ready to make a Super Bowl run every season. Every year is a new year. The importance of the quarterback position is well documented and getting a guy like Aaron Rodgers, one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, on the field here in Pittsburgh is really exciting for our organization. We’re pumped up.”
