Matthew Tkachuk adds insult to injury with vivid shot at Connor McDavid during Panthers’ Stanley Cup celebration

The Florida Panthers won't ever let the Edmonton Oilers live down the consecutive Stanley Cup Final defeats in the NHL, especially Matthew Tkachuk who aimed right at Connor McDavid amid a night of celebration at a nightclub in Miami.

Matthew Tkachuk and the Florida Panthers definitely know how to party. Perhaps their success in the NHL is largely thanks to their desire to celebrate appropriately afterwards. While enjoying a night of festivities in Downtown Miami, the two-time Stanley Cup champion sent Connor McDavid a blunt message.

Tkachuk and the Panthers won’t ever forget their back-to-back Stanley Cups in the NHL. Whether they’ll remember the events after the final horn, that’s a whole other story.

Florida was honored on Thursday night at a nightclub in Miami, where the entire night revolved around the emerging dynasty in Broward County. Tkachuk, who has become the face of the franchise since arriving in town in 2022, has never been one to hold back his thoughts. Even the intrusive ones.

While standing on stage during Friday’s dawn in the 305, Tkachuk gave free rein to his mischievous side. The target of his brief yet blunt comment? None other than McDavidwhom the Panthers have now defeated in back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals.

A night of revelations

Ever since the final horn sounded at Amerant Bank Arena in Game 6, the Cats have been on a memorable run of sincere statements. Some of which they might want back later. A drunk mind speaks a sober heart—the Panthers have proven just that.

Fans caught a glimpse of what’s to become based on the speeches made by the players. Sam Bennett, for example, might have spoiled the suspense around his NHL future as he recreated an iconic movie scene to address his situation.

I’m not fuc—- leaving,” Bennett roared at the crowd, who erupted in response to the news scoop. It was a night of sincere admissions beneath the glow and twilight of Miami’s nightlife.

The party isn’t over just yet. A long summer of celebrations lies ahead, including the championship parade on Sunday. Hopefully, the weather holds up better than last year’s downpour. Either way, Tkachuk and the Cats have already proven they’re not afraid of a little rain.
