The Eastern Conference Final series in the 2025 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs between the Florida Panthers and the Carolina Hurricanes has taken a decisive turn in favor of head coach Paul Maurice’s team, which leads 2-0 after two dominant wins in Raleigh. Despite standout performances from Matthew Tkachuk’s squad, also featuring veteran Brad Marchand, concern has grown over a potential injury to Sam Reinhart.

In Game 2, Florida delivered a commanding 5-0 victory, with a stellar performance from Sam Bennett, who tallied two goals and an assist. Tkachuk and Carter Verhaeghe also made significant contributions. After the second chapter of the series against the Canes, Maurice was clear and firm when addressing Reinhart’s situation.

Reinhart exited Game 2 due to a lower-body injury and is currently being evaluated. Coach Maurice praised the importance of the 29-year-old left winger, noting his vital impact alongside key players like Marchand and Tkachuk.

Reinhart left the ice in visible pain after taking a hard hit from Sebastian Aho and did not return to the game. It’s unpredictable how long he could be out—or even if he’ll play again in the series against Carolina. For now, there is no immediate update.

Reinhart’s impact on the Panthers

Reinhart’s potential absence presents a significant challenge for the Panthers, especially considering the recent injuries to other key players. Tkachuk, for instance, missed much of the second half of the season with a groin injury. Meanwhile, Marchand has also dealt with physical issues but has continued to contribute with his playoff experience.
