Somebody stop Brad Marchand and the Florida Panthers! The Stanley Cup celebrations continue to roll through South Florida, as players keep rubbing salt in the wounds of every NHL team that fell short this season. Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers, in particular, just can’t catch a break. Most recently, Marchand posted a video on his Instagram account taking aim at Edmonton—but quickly took it down. Still, it’s safe to say this won’t be the last episode in the summer of Brad Marchand.
As much uncertainty revolves around his future in Sunrise, Marchand has decided to enjoy every single moment to the fullest. And that he’s clearly done. Similar to his mindset throughout the postseason, the 37-year-old veteran is taking it day-by-day. Needless to say, it’s paid off and the Panthers have reportedly put on a plan to keep Marchand around.
There might not be another player in the NHL quite like Marchand. Then again, if there is, he’s probably in the Panthers’ locker room, too. The Cats are known for their play hard, party harder mindset—and the rest of the league still hasn’t figured them out.
After last year’s championship, the celebrations have only been taken up a notch. So nice, they had to do it twice—and the back-to-back champs are making sure everyone knows it.
Especially McDavid and the Oilers, who were also targeted by Matthew Tkachuk. Edmonton now has to endure the banter on top of the heartbreak.

On his Instagram story, Marchand filmed himself enjoying a sunny day in Sunrise. At first, it seemed like any other post—yet the smirk on the Cats’ forward’s face hinted at an incoming chirp. Then, the Panthers veteran slowly tilted the camera to reveal an Edmonton logo on his T-shirt. However, the wordmark had been altered to say “Losers” instead of “Oilers.”

Marchand’s presence in social media since Game 6 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final has been an absolute blast. At least for Panthers fans, not so much for the Oilers’. However, the forward didn’t miss the chance to have some fun with almost every NHL franchise.
During a team dinner, Marchand posted dozens of pictures of his teammates—tagging their former teams and thanking them for letting Florida acquire them. “So cliché, but everything happens for a reason,” Marchand said about those stories, via reporter Katie Engleson. “All those teams making bad decisions to get rid of guys and our team making incredible decisions to bring them all in.”
Clearly in a grateful mood, he also gave a nod to former Panthers general manager Dale Tallon, crediting him for drafting Aleksander Barkov, Aaron Ekblad, and Anton Lundell.

Marchand isn’t the only star in Sunrise whose future is uncertain at the moment. Sam Bennett, the 2025 Conn Smythe Trophy winner, is also set to become an UFA on July 1st, and Marchand had a hilarious post about their situations.

While it may feel like the Panthers have been partying for months down in South Florida, their summer-long festivities are only just getting started. Up next: the championship parade. And if the players keep up their current pace, it’s safe to expect more hilarious—yet eye-opening—statements.
