La Liga giants Barcelona has been monitoring Lautaro Martinez's situation at Inter and are ready to swoop in for the player. There have constantly been reports linking the Argentine to the Camp Nou side. However, as per Corriere dello Sport, Barcelona lack the funds to make a move for the 23-year-old.

Memphis Depay, on the other hand, has been Ronald Koeman's No.1 priority during the summer transfer window. The Holland international, who plays for Lyon, is considered a cheaper alternative to Martinez.

According to Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas, Depay is deemed too expensive for Barca. "The president of Barca [Josep Maria Bartomeu] told me on Sunday that Barca was suffering a lot from the COVID-19 crisis and have no possibility of making an offer," he tweeted on September 15.

The La Liga giants have brought in Miralem Pjani, Trincao, Matheus Fernandes, and Pedri this summer. In addition, they have so far made a profit thanks to the sales of Arthur, Nelson Semedo, Carles Perez, Marc Cucurella, and Ivan Rakitic.

Barcelona to snatch Lautaro Martinez and Memphis Depay?

After Luis Suarez's departure to Atletico Madrid, Barcelona soccer boss Koeman has left the door open for several new additions. The Blaugrana are looking for a new forward and they already have their hearts set on two possible candidates, Lautaro Martinez and Memphis Depay.

"Nothing is ruled out. We are always looking for players to improve our game," Koeman said at a press conference on Saturday.

"It may be that the players you want aren't possible because of the financial situation of the club, but I've accepted this – I knew it before I arrived," he added.
