The Gold Cup 2021started and the soccer community is in for a treat. Mexico arrived at the tournament as favorites to secure a second-straight title after being crowned two years ago and here we will take a look at their schedule for the group stage.

El Tri won theGroup A againstTrinidad and Tobago, Guatemala, and El Salvador. They ruled this zone even though they found in La Selecta a tricky opponent, yet Gerardo Martino‘s squadwasthe strongest one in the region.

Mexico played their group phase matches in Texas and started their campaign on the right foot. Now, El Tri are expecting to reach the final. Let’s take a look at their upcoming 2021 Gold Cup affairs.

Mexico vs Trinidad and Tobago – July 10

Mexico started their 2021 Gold Cup tournament with a scoreless draw with Trinidad and Tobago on Saturday, July 10, at 10 PM (ET) at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The Socca Warriors hadmade this stage through the prelims so they hadtwo competitive games under their belts.

Mexico vs Guatemala – July 14

Just a few days after beginning their campaign, Mexico clinched their first victory with a 3-0 win overGuatemala on Wednesday, July 14, at 9:30 PM (ET) at Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas. Guatemala replaced Curaçao, who suffered a Covid outbreak that ruled them out for the tournament.

Mexico vs El Salvador – July 18

Gerardo Martino’s men finished their group stage action with a 1-0 win over El Salvador on Sunday, July 18, at 10 PM (ET) once againat Cotton Bowl. El Tri arrived at this game with a quarter-final spot already booked.

Mexico vs Honduras – July 24

Mexico and Hondurasfaced each other on Saturday, July 24, at theState Farm Stadium in Arizona in a match for the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup Quarterfinals. Martino’s side clinched a convincing 3-0 victory and won a spot in the semis. Honduras were without their star Alberth Elis, who had suffered an injury days before the gamethat ruled him out for the rest of the tournament.

Mexico vs Canada – July 29

Gerardo Martino’s side advanced to the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup Finalafter beating Canada 2-1 with a last-minute goal scored by Hector Herrera. The semifinal game was played on Thursday, July 29th, at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Mexico vs United States – August 1

Mexico and the United States will meet in another Concacaf Gold Cup Final on Sunday, August 1st, at theAllegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.
