Australia with the biggest challenge ahead against USA in the Women’s Basketball Tournament at the 2020 Olympic Games. This quarterfinals game will take place at Saitama Super Arena on August 4, 2021 at 12:40 AM (ET). The Opals (Team Australia nickname) won the pass to the quarterfinals with a pinch of luck. But USA women don’t know what it’s like to lose in Olympic basketball.

Team Australia could barely win a game in the group stage. The Australian women lost two games but managed to get into third place to advance to the quarterfinals. But Australia has experience at the Olympic Games and other continental tournaments.

Team USA has what it takes to win. The women of United States are just as good at playing basketball as the boys on the men’s team. If the USA wins this game they will have to play the semifinals against the winners of the game between Serbia and China.

The most recent medal, London 2012, was a victory against China in the quarterfinals, but later in the semis the Australian women lost to USA 86-73.

Team USA has three victories at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. The last victory for the USA women was against France 82-93 in the last round of the groups. That loss was enough for France to advance to the quarterfinals. There is a remote possibility that the women of France and the USA will face each other in the final for the gold.
