Wiggins is playing elite defense, and he sure bothered Jayson Tatum a lot in Game 1. If he can keep that defensive production up and the supporting cast steps up offensively, then the Dubs will be in a prime position to take the trophy home.

“Here are the names that I’ve heard: I think both (Bojan and Bogdan) Bogdanovics would make sense for the Cavs. Gordon Hayward, whose salary lines up with Kevin Love… Tobias Harris, Harrison Barnes, Gary Trent Jr., Jeremi Grant, Aaron Gordon. And this is one that I’m watching. I think it’s less likely than it was when the postseason started, but it’s one that I’ve heard kicked around inside the walls of Cleveland. It’s Andrew Wiggins of the Warriors.”
It’s an interesting connection, given that the Cavs draftedWiggins with the first overall pick in 2014 but traded him right away to the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he fell short of expectations. But Wiggins reestablished himself as a key role player for <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nba/nba-news-draymond-green-isnt-excited-about-the-nba-finals-yet-20220523-0006.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Golden State</a>, helping them in its way to the NBA Conference Finals this season.

That excuse doesn’t really hold up. Especially when he’s clearly choosing money for him and his family over the health and lives of other families not as fortunate as him.”
As I’ve asked before, what specific right is he fighting for? The right to do whatever you want with your body doesn’t exist in pretty much any civilized society because we recognize that those who behave recklessly and irresponsibly can harm others. You do own your body—unless a deadly virus turns that body into a plague delivery system that can kill hundreds of thousands. Today, while Andrew Wiggins was gathering his generational wealth, 2,036 people died of COVID-19 and 71,905 new cases were confirmed. Of these deaths and new cases, 97 percent of them were unvaccinated. Tomorrow and the day after and the day after, more will die and others will face long-term health problems. He could help prevent that. He chose to use his body not to.”

A couple of days ago, it became public knowledge that <a href="https://us.bolavip.com/brooklyn-nets-t99901" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Brooklyn Nets</a> star <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/kyrie-irving-t159843" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kyrie Irving</a> was an <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nba/kyrie-irving-could-lose-428000-per-game-over-anti-vaxx-conspiracy-theory-20210927-0011.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">anti-vaxx conspiracy theorist.</a> While that was fairly unsurprising, many around the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nba-t19117" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NBA</a> were concerned about how his influence as VP of the NBAPA could affect other players.
Then, Golden State Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins, Washington Wizards’ Bradley Beal, and Denver Nuggets’ Michael Porter Jr all shared their anti-vaxx views, stating that they don’t want to risk side effects and that they didn’t see the point if they could still get COVID.
That’s why a clearly infuriated Kareem Abdul-Jabbar pretty much mopped the floor with them in an ellegant fashion. The <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/los-angeles-lakers-t101482" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Los Angeles Lakers</a> legend took to his blog to call out these guys, saying they’re “voluntarily uninformed dumb jocks.”

I refer to this as “voluntarily uninformed” because they have the technology to gather all the information through their smart phone, the most advanced educational tool in the history of humankind. Listening to them flounder when asked why they aren’t vaccinated is cringy embarrassing, like when a teacher calls on the kid in class they know hasn’t read the assignment but the kid tries to bluff it out anyway.”
“Next time you have a serious infection, don’t take the anti-biotics the doctor prescribes because they don’t work 100 percent of the time,” Kareem added. “And when you’re playing basketball, don’t shoot the ball unless you score 100 percent of the time. Also, that question has been answered a thousand times by experts.”
“Trying to make this a matter of principle would be fine, if there was a rational principle involved. It’s not being forced to be vaccinated, since no one is forcing you. If you are so righteously committed to the principle, then don’t play professional basketball. Stand firm on that principle. Unless money trumps principle… The problem with that vague philosophy is that the rest of us pay for those sloppy thinkers because they are the ones clogging our hospitals, crushing our economy, and keeping us from our loved ones,” he concluded.

We’re in a day and age now where perception can become reality. “If you do your homework the way it should be done, you understand there’s people who have an excuse and there’s people who have actual values. He’s a guy that has values, and he’s the type of guy I’ll stand by. He’s the type of guy I’ll risk being around the situation. I’m vaccinated and I have an understanding about this, and he has a different understanding, but his understanding is something that I truly respect, and I have a value for how he sees life. He’s the type of guy that I support the whole way. Hopefully, we can find a solution,” the former Finals MVP concluded.
It doesn’t seem like Wiggins is going to change his mind and that could put his status in jeopardy for the first portion of the season. The Warriors could even consider trading him if he doesn’t cave in.

That’s why Warriors executive Kirk Lacob came clean and was brutally honest when asked about Wiggins and his future. While the Warriors aren’t actively trying to trade him, he refused to acknowledge that they wouldn’t move him in the right scenario:
“It is so easy to trade people 50 times on paper,” Lacob told NBC Sports. “Look, we are always honest with guys too. I have talked to Andrew’s agent many, many times over the last year, and he will call and say ‘hey, you know I’m hearing this’ and I’m always [to Andrew] like ‘look, you should feel very comfortable here, you are very well-liked. Am I going to tell you that you will never get traded at any point? No, I would never tell anybody that.“

“We never want to lie to someone,”Lacob added. “Now that doesn’t mean that is what they want to hear, but we don’t want to lie to a player or agent because that looks bad if something does happen, even if it is a remote chance.”
That’s perhaps one of the things that make the Warriors a top-notch organization. They do what’s best for the franchise but also care about their players and respect them enough to at least be straightforward with them.
Wiggins has been a solid pickup for the Warriors. He may be overpaid but he had an outstanding season last year and can be a key piece in a title contender. But this is a business and no one’s safe. Everybody’s trying to get better.
