The <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/phoenix-suns" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Phoenix Suns </a>entered the season as the team to beat, not only in the Western Conference but in the entire league. Most people expected him to mesh right away with <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/kevin-durant" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Kevin Durant</a> and Devin Booker, but those who were worried about his availability — or lack thereof — were proven right at the beginning of the season.



The former <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/washington-wizards" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Washington Wizards</a> star has missed 22 of his team’s first 28 games. They’re 14-14 and have gone 8-11 in their last 19, ranking 16th in points scored per game (114.5) and 15th in points allowed per game (114.0). Needless to say, those aren’t championship-caliber numbers.



With that in mind, veteran Eric Gordon expressed his concerns about this current slump, urging coach Frank Vogel to get all scorers — not just their two biggest stars — more looks.

“Early on in the season, it was better,” Eric told Bleacher Report. “And lately, there just hasn’t been an emphasis [to get me more looks]. So, it’s definitely different. Lately I haven’t been getting hardly any touches really.”



The sharpsooting veteran believes that not only himself but the rest of his teammates could contribute to a bigger extent if they got more involved in the offensive gameplan:



“No question. Everybody knows the type of player I am and what I’m about. I came here to win, but what I do is score,” Gordon said. “And I think when I score, it really opens up the door for a lot of people because I can score in big games and in big ways. That’s just what it is.”



As of now, Durant and Booker currently combine for 40.2 of the team’s 86.0 field goal attempts per game. That number goes up to 51.7 whenever Beal is also on the court. Gordon is the only other Sun averaging double-digit in field goal attempts (11.0 per game).

“I’ve been through worse than this,” Booker told Bleacher Report. “Remember those first five years for me? I’ve seen this before. I trust everybody in here. We have the talent to turn it around. I’m not too discouraged, but there’s a pep in our step now. We know we have some work to clean up. It’s better to go through this now than the end of the season.”

Multiply it by the repeater tax and you’re talking about somewhere around a $7 million added fee if the Warriors were to offer Gordon the same multi-year minimum contract that Phoenix did. …



“Phoenix has something else to offer its minimum targets this week that the Warriors don’t. There’s a clearer path to a larger role on the Suns. They entered free agency with a torn down roster around Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Bradley Beal and Deandre Ayton. There’s a fifth starting spot up for grabs and loads of bench minutes available. Gordon will probably close playoff games for them.”

They have potential to contend, but they need to make the right moves.

According to Kelly Iko of The Athletic, the Sixers have re-engaged in talks with the Houston Rockets for Eric Gordon. <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nba/nba-trade-rumors-philadelphia-76ers-set-their-price-for-mattise-thybulle-20220623-0015.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Philadelphia</a> was reportedly close to acquiring him on draft night before negotiations broke down, but it seems to still have interest in the veteran player.

“Eric Gordon, the subject of repeated interest around the league, was close to being traded on draft night, with the Sixers presumed to be the landing spot before talks ultimately fell apart, The Athletic was told,” Iko wrote. 
“But in addition to the 76ers, the Rockets received offers from no less than six teams before the draft, including the Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns, who offered packages including first-round picks. Houston turned all of those down. Sources told The Athletic Philadelphia re-engaged with Houston at the beginning of free agency regarding the former Sixth Man of the Year.”
Gordon would be helpful for the Sixers but the Rockets have no need to let him leave, as theyrejected offers from many other teams. There’s still a lot of time before the season gets underway, so it remains to be seen how this plays out.

The days continue to go by and Frank Vogel’s side looks far from a legit championship contender. Even so, adding a couple of pieces could be more than enough to finally turn things around.
With that in mind, Eddie Bitar of Fadeaway World put up a trade idea that could solve the Lakers’ biggest need while helping out naother team as well, stating that they should trade Kendrick Nunn and Talen Horton-Tucker for <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/houston-rockets-t102082" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Houston Rockets’</a> Eric Gordon.

“The Houston Rockets are arguably the worst team in the league and are clearly tanking for top picks as they develop their young players. But one man on the team sticks out: Eric Gordon. Gordon is the best all-around scorer on the team and is a player that is best suited to help teams win games, not lose them. Therefore, Houston should consider moving Gordon to the Lakers for some young players while Los Angeles acquire the 2017 6th Man of the Year to help them survive without the presence of The King,” wrote Bitar.
Gordon has made a living off his sharpshooting skills and the Lakers clearly need another threat from beyond the three-point line. However, the team could be wary of letting Talen Horton-Tucker go in any trade.
Horton-Tucker isn’t a good shooter but the team thinks he can become a 20+ PPG scorer pretty soon, so maybe this idea is a bit of a stretch. But if they continue to struggle and their title window starts to close, expect Rob Pelinka to take a more aggressive approach.
