With the 2025 NBA Draft Lottery now out of the way, we can get a better understanding of where the top <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-basketball" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">college basketball</a> players might land in the pros next season.



Needless to say, all the talk centered around Cooper Flagg and whether the NBA rigged the lottery to send him to the Dallas Mavericks after the infamous Luka Doncic trade.



Nevertheless, he’s not the only former Duke Blue Devils star entering the league next season. With that in mind, we’ll take a look at the updated projection for Khaman Maluach’s future.

“Coming off a difficult, injury riddled-season that led to major changes in the front office, the Pelicans need star power to build around Zion Williamson, who played in just 130 games over the past four seasons because of injuries,” wrote ESPN’s Jeremy Woo.

There’s plenty of uncertainty in New Orleans right now. Zion Williamson could be on his way out, and there are also rumors about them making a run at Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Even so, if they do keep the seventh pick, they should strongly consider taking the seven-footer with it. He’s a long-term gamble and a little raw, but the potential is off the charts.

To say that this has been a tough season for the New Orleans Pelicans would be a huge understatement. They’ve struggled with injuries from the very beginning of the campaign.



Ironically, Zion Williamson has been mostly healthy, so he hasn’t been the problem. If there’s a silver lining, it is that the team will most likely get a top-three pick in the 2025 <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nba" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NBA </a>Draft.



According to a report by Angelo Guinhawa of Hardwood Heroics, the Pelicans are projected to have the second-overall pick, and with it, a chance to draft Ace Bailey out of Rutgers.

“In the latest NBA mock draft, the New Orleans Pelicans are predicted to pick the promising talent of Ace Bailey from Rutgers,” wrote Guinhawa. “The 18-year-old forward brings an enticing combination of size and skill that has garnered significant attention leading up to the 2025 draft.”

Of course, some have doubts about Bailey’s shot selection and lack of perimetral stats, as he has a tendency to be a gunslinger who doesn’t get his teammates involved.

Then again, the potential is just too big to ignore, and with Brandon Ingram no longer there, the Pelicans could certainly use another big forward to pair with Zion Williamson.
