The Green Bay Packers entered the 2020 NFLseason with a lot of doubts over their head. People thought last year’s success was a fluke and that they wouldn’t be able to improve, especially after not signing or drafting receivers.
Fast-forward to today and the team is now 9-3 and in control of the NFC North, and it’s pretty clear that their offense has improved a lot from last season, even though their roster looks almost the same.
So, when asked about what’s different this time, Aaron Rodgers just said that he believes that the offense is much more comfortable with Matt LaFleur’s system because they’re just keeping it simple.
Aaron Rodgers Thinks The Green Bay Packers’ Offense Is Simpler Now
“I think it’s a comfort for everybody in the offense. Simplicity, even. And then guys making steps, growing up and taking that next step into their development,” Rodgers told the media, as quoted by ClutchPoints.
“So I think, you know, in general — and I’ve talked about this a lot of Wednesdays, and I’ll continue to — I really feel like that we did make some things a little simpler this year, and everybody’s in their second year at the same time so it becomes more simple because it’s more readily on your mind. It’s easier to put a picture to a thought, to a play, and I think that’s helped all of us kind of play a little bit faster this year,” the quarterback concluded.
The Packers are set to face the Detroit Lions on the road next Sunday, which is a mouth-watering matchup for their offense. Davante Adams and Aaron Jones have taken another step forward this season, and it’s clear that Aaron Rodgers is far from done as he’s playing at an MVP level right now.
