Tyreek Hill is still recovering from the serious knee injury that ended his time with the Dolphins, but the star wide receiver is expected to return to the NFL in 2026. Hill is currently a free agent after Miami released him, and his next team could become one of the biggest stories of the upcoming season.
During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Hill’s agent Drew Rosenhaus confirmed that his client plans to play this season. “It’s not hyperbole for me to predict that he will play this season. When? I’m not sure. I don’t expect Tyreek Hill to sign before the season. He sent me videos of him running hills yesterday and he looked great. Tyreek said to me: ‘I still have some work to do. I’m not ready yet.'”
Rosenhaus emphasized that there is no rush for Hill to return before he is completely healthy. The agent believes the veteran receiver could be ready around the middle of the season, which would make him a highly attractive addition for a contender looking to make a Super Bowl run.
Will Tyreek Hill play in 2026?
Yes. Drew Rosenhaus confirmed it. The agent believes Tyreek Hill’s situation is about making sure he returns at full strength rather than rushing back for the sake of signing with a team.
“I’m not pressuring Tyreek, nor I am I setting a timeline for him. It’s not when you come back, it’s how you come back. There’s no sense of urgency timing wise. I think this is a future Hall of Famer who still has a lot of good football left in him.”
That approach could make Hill especially valuable later in the season. If he is healthy by November, a contender could potentially add an elite vertical threat just before the playoff race reaches its most important stage. His speed and big-play ability would immediately change the dynamics of any offense.
Will Tyreek Hill sign with Chiefs?
The Kansas City Chiefs have been linked with a potential reunion with Tyreek Hill for weeks, but nothing has been decided. Rosenhaus said the wide receiver will wait for the right opportunity rather than rush into a deal.
“When he does sign, he will be a coveted player. He’ll be the kind of guy that will impact the playoff race. Tyreek Hill is gonna take his time and pick the right team. He’s gonna come back fully healthy and he wants to help a team win a Super Bowl.”
