The Miami Dolphins have made it clear: Tyreek Hill isn’t going anywhere. Despite persistent trade speculation and swirling rumors regarding his future with the NFL team, head coach Mike McDaniel reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to keeping the Pro Bowl wide receiver for the upcoming season.
During the NFL’s annual meetings, head coach Mike McDaniel addressed the uncertainty surrounding Hill and dismissed any notion of a potential trade. Said Hill isn’t going anywhere.
“I can certainly say with certainty that at this certain moment [Hill won’t be traded],” McDaniel said, per The Miami Herald’s Isaiah Smalls. “We are fully planning to move forward for a better version of our relationship with Tyreek.”
The Dolphins’ vision for Hill moving forward
While trade rumors have lingered, Miami’s primary focus remains on maximizing Hill’s impact on the field. McDaniel emphasized the importance of keeping Hill engaged and ensuring that he continues to be a cornerstone of the Dolphins’ offense.
“I know what has been put on display during the regular season when we had a fully attacking Tyreek Hill in the offseason—being the pace car for all the sprints, all those things,” McDaniel said. “And I fully expect to get a better version of that horse—that’s the reason he was voted captain. That’s been the biggest thing: There’s been a lot of work that we don’t publicize.”
Hill, now 31, is coming off a season in which he failed to reach 1,000 receiving yards for the first time since 2019 and missed the Pro Bowl for the first time in his nine-year career. He finished 2024 with 81 receptions for 959 yards and six touchdowns, a dip in production compared to previous years.
Hill Responds to Trade Speculation
Amid the swirling rumors, Hill himself addressed the speculation head-on. On Monday, he responded to a report claiming he would be open to a trade, dismissing the claim with a simple reply: “lol another false narrative.”
The star receiver’s comments, combined with McDaniel’s strong stance, suggest that Miami fully intends to move forward with Hill as a key piece of their roster. While offseason drama is common in the NFL, the Dolphins are making it clear that their relationship with Hill is one they want to strengthen—not end.
