A key former teammate of Arch Manning at Texas Longhorns has made a big decision ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Arch Manning has been named the starting QB for the Texas Longhorns for the upcoming season, and the only certainty at this point is that he will no longer share the roster with several of his teammates, some of whom have declared for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Matthew Golden was one of the most important players in Steve Sarkisian’s offense last season, and he is one of those who decided to take the leap in his career and enter the upcoming NFL Draft. Prior to this event, the wide receiver made a significant decision.

According to NFL Draft Analyst for @TheAthletic Dane Brugler, one of the most highly projected players was invited to the ceremony in Wisconsin on April 24th, and Golden decided to accept the invitation.

Accepting an invitation to such events clearly shows Golden’s intention to be one of the most highly projected wide receivers in the upcoming draft, as several franchises have already set their sights on him, and he is likely to be selected with a high pick.

Manning’s challenge for the upcoming season

Another player who declared for the upcoming NFL Draft is none other than Quinn Ewers, who was the starting quarterback for Steve Sarkisian until last season. With his departure to the league, the door opens for Manning to fully take control of the first team on the field.

Now it will be up to him to develop his game and respond to the coaching staff, as he will be the one tasked with leading the team on the field. Much was said last season about his performance in the moments he played, and now there are high expectations for him to showcase his immense talent starting in Week 1.

Golden’s outstanding season at Texas

Just as Xavier Worthy once stood out with his talent at Texas, earning his ticket to be selected by the Kansas City Chiefs, Matthew Golden aims to follow that same path, and his numbers from last season back him up.

In 2024, the wide receiver played 16 games for Sarkisian’s team, starting in all of them. He recorded 58 receptions, totaling 987 receiving yards, along with 9 touchdowns for his team.

The next NFL Draft will take place on April 24th, 25th, and 26th at Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers. A large crowd of fans is expected to attend this impressive event, which will determine the future of many outstanding players with a history in College Football.
