Aaron Judge drove in a run during the Yankees’ much-needed 7–3 win over the Angels — a small step forward for a team that had been stuck in a brutal losing streak, one their captain tried to explain the best he could.

“That’s baseball. We know what we signed up for,” Judge said. “You’re gonna play 162, you’re gonna hit a rut like this. You can’t give up, you can’t mope about it. Just show up the next day and be ready to play.”

Before snapping their six-game skid, the Yankees had been under fire from fans and media alike. They dropped the series to the Angels but managed to salvage the final game of the four-game set. It was their first win at home since June 5.

“Agreed. But fundamentals don’t seem to improve. Dropped balls. Base running mistakes. Botched ground balls. Mental errors. Bad ump calls. All part of downhill swerves. Looks like a team that never took spring training seriously,” one fan wrote on X.

Another added: “Why is it a team with a $300 million dollar payroll is ‘gonna hit a rut like this’? They accept it like there’s nothing they can do about it. What a joke.”
