Aaron Rodgers publicly admitted that one of the main reasons he decided to join the Pittsburgh Steelers was DK Metcalf. The quarterback spoke highly of his new wide receiver during an interview with Pat McAfee.
āHeās a big reason that Iām in Pittsburgh as well. The conversations that we had and just the kind of person that he is. It started here. I really didnāt know DK at all. Heās like: āI work out 6:00 am every day.ā Iām like: āOk. This guy is disciplined. This guy has a drive.ā I said: āHow about eight oāclock?ā So, heās just not a specimen, but heās a really solid human being.ā
Metcalf was traded from the Seahawks to Pittsburgh because Mike Tomlin wants to set the tone at every position with physicality. Following the departure of George Pickens, thereās no doubt that the veteran is now the leader of the wide receiver room.
How long is DK Metcalfās contract with Steelers?
DK Metcalf is under contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers through the 2029 season after signing a five-year deal worth $150 million ($80 million guaranteed). The deal includes a $30 million signing bonus.
Aaron Rodgers has been impressed by Metcalfās work ethic and believes it will serve as an example for other wide receivers on the team, such as Calvin Austin III and Roman Wilson.

āHe is a solid dude. He leads by example. The way he practices. Thatās one of the most encouraging things. The room goes how the top dog goes and when DK catches a ball and finishes 60 yards to the end zone, it makes everybody else want to do the same thing.ā
