Aaron Rodgers is the key piece for Mike Tomlin in the search for a new Super Bowl with the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, the veteran is not well-liked by several people, including team legend Terry Bradshaw, who said this in May during an interview with 103.7 The Buzz, when the contract had not yet been signed and there was still speculation about the mutual interest between both sides.

ā€œThat’s a joke. That to me is just a joke. What are you going to do? Bring him in for one year, are you kidding me? That guy needs to stay in California. Go somewhere and chew on bark and whisper to the gods out there.ā€

Now, nearly two months later, Rodgers has finally responded during training camp. To everyone’s surprise, instead of firing back, Aaron had some unexpected words about the criticism he received from Bradshaw.

What did Terry Bradshaw say about Aaron Rodgers?

Terry Bradshaw publicly said that the Pittsburgh Steelers’ interest in Aaron Rodgers was a joke and that the player should stay at his home in Malibu. Despite the clear jab, the star quarterback didn’t look for a fight and responded calmly during an interview with Kyle Brandt.

ā€œI’ve known Terry for a long time, being a part of Fox. Terry’s a legend. He’s an absolute legend. He won four Super Bowls. He’s had a legendary career in the media. But Terry, like a lot of people, they don’t know me. So, he’s got an idea of what he thinks about me based on what I’ve done, the documentary, what I’ve said, darkness retreat, whatever the hell you want to talk about.ā€

Despite receiving a direct attack from Bradshaw, Rodgers said he has nothing to hold against him because Terry is a legend who laid the foundation for new generations to benefit from a multimillion-dollar business like the NFL.

ā€œI’d love to get to know Terry on a deeper level and I feel like if he gave me a chance to get to know him then we’d have a good friendship because for me I have nothing but the utmost amount of respect and deference for what the greats have done because they laid the foundation for us to be able to play in this great game. To be paid like kings and to carry on the tradition of excellence. We’re standing on the backs of those guys. I’d love to get to know Terry on a deeper level if he’s open to it. Maybe we can go chew some bark or whatever the hell he’s talking about together.ā€
