Lamar Jackson is gearing up for a new season as he looks to win his first Super Bowl, while the Baltimore Ravens are working on building a powerful offense around him. During the 2025 NFL offseason, head coach John Harbaugh‘s team has been focused on making moves to maintain its competitiveness in the AFC.

It was Harbaugh himself who emphasized the importance of surrounding quarterback Jackson with the best support, especially along the offensive line. In that context, the Ravens are evaluating the future of a key weapon in tight end Mark Andrews, while general manager Eric DeCosta made the franchise’s position clear.

Andrews is entering the final year of his contract with a base salary of $7 million and a cap hit of $16.9 million. The Ravens could save $11 million by trading or releasing him, but they have made it clear what their objective is regarding Harbaugh and Jackson’s key weapon.

Ravens’ statement on Andrews

The Ravens expect tight end Andrews to be part of the team for the 2025 season. “At this point, I really expect Mark to be on this team. Great player. Love him. Competitive, tough, playmaker. I would expect him to be on the team,” DeCosta said, via the team’s website.

Over time, since his arrival in Baltimore in 2018, Andrews has become a fundamental player in the Ravens’ offense. Jackson found in him a high-level key weapon who has become the franchise’s all-time leader in touchdown receptions.

Judging by DeCosta’s statements, the Ravens are determined to do whatever it takes to keep Andrews on the team.
