Once again, Lamar Jackson will be at the helm for a Baltimore Ravens team determined to return to the NFL’s elite this upcoming season. The good news for the quarterback is the arrival of several new faces—additions expected to further elevate his game as the team gears up for what lies ahead.

One of those new additions is Jaire Alexander, the former Packers cornerback and a familiar face to Jackson, who joins John Harbaugh’s squad as one of the potential new stars on the defensive side of the ball. His excitement was evident from day one — especially when it came to the prospect of playing alongside the QB.

In a recent media session published on the team’s official website, Alexander shared his thoughts on this new chapter in his career, expressing genuine joy about reuniting with his former Louisville teammate on the same team once again.

“[Lamar Jackson] is my boy. [We’re on a] first name, last name basis,” he said. “So, it’s funny. We were always talking about [playing together again], so it is crazy how God works and brought us together. So, I’m happy.”

He also couldn’t hide his excitement about arriving in Baltimore: “I’m in love,” Alexander said. “What can I say? The weather is great. The fans are great. The city is great, so I think I’m in a great place.”

The reasons behind his arrival in Baltimore

Jaire Alexander was undoubtedly one of the most sought-after players in this past offseason, with several franchises looking to land the former Packers star. Despite all the interest, it was the Ravens’ defensive culture that ultimately tipped the scales in favor of Baltimore for the standout cornerback.

“It’s actually an amazing feeling. Defenses win championships,” he said. “Defenses win championships, so I’m in the right place to do that.”

His arrival gives an already talented Ravens roster a significant boost, adding even more firepower to a team built to contend deep into the season. The big question now is: can they finally make it back to the Super Bowl?
