Christian Eriksen has already been through hell, the Inter Milan and Denmark international midfielder suffered a cardiac arrest in mid match at the Euro 2020. Eriksen collapsed on the field during the Euro 2020 match between Denmark and Finland, his teammates surrounded him in an effort to not show how medical staff were using CPR to revive him and take Eriksen to the nearest hospital.

Since that terrible ordeal the player had a defibrillator implanted and thus cannot take part in any of his clubs matches. Serie A rules prevent players with a defibrillator to partake in any competitive matches.

This unfortunate situation will almost likely end Eriksen’s time in Serie A and in Italy, but this does not mean it is the end of his career as Eriksen can play in other countries where no such law exists or impedes from playing.

Inter Milan announced that due to this law they will have to sell Christian Eriksen unless the player has the defibrillator removed and show no other heart problems in order to play in Serie A again.

In their statement Inter Milan left the door open for a move for Eriksen: 'Although the current conditions of the player are not such as to allow the achievement of sporting fitness in Italy, the same could instead be achieved in other countries where therefore the player could resume competitive activity.'

After almost six months of inactivity on the field, Eriksen will have to start looking towards leagues that will allow him to play and reestablish his professional career.
