His tenure in charge of the Spurs finished trophyless, being the first time the Portuguese manager left a club without silverware. His spell in North London didn’t go as expected.
The experienced manager was famous for leading dark horses to unforgettable feats, like when his <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/porto-t110856" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Porto</a> side wascrowned in the 2003/04 <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/champions-league-t24" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Champions League</a> or when Inter knocked <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/barcelona-t11" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Barcelona</a> out in the 2009/10 edition and went on to win the title. Tottenham hoped to put their drought to an end with his guidance but things didn’t turnout well.
After a promising start to the current <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/premier-league-t45" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Premier League</a>, Spurs fellto the seventh position, far away from the first spot and trailing in the race for a UCL berth as well. Not even the possibility of winning the League Cup enabled Mou to retain his job, whose contract was originally set to expire in 2023. However, Tottenham are already thinking about their next leader, and once again a former Chelsea boss could be on target.

As reported by Football Italia, Tottenham would be willing to bring in Maurizio Sarri,who has worked for <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/juventus-t12" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Juventus</a> last season. The Italian manager was removed from the Vecchia Signora’s first team despite leading them to a <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/serie-a-t47163" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Serie A</a> title in 2019/20.
An early Champions League elimination against Olympique Lyon left him on the verge of the sack, and he couldn’t avoid it not even by winning the league. Besides, Juve lost on penalties against Napoli in the Coppa Italia final.
Before his stint in charge of Juventus, Sarri had also spent one season with Chelsea after rising to fame leading a highly-praised Napoli team. His experience in the Premier League wasn’t bad at all, finishing fourth with the Blues and even lifting the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/europa-league-t31" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Europa League</a> trophy after beating Arsenal in the final.

However, his offensive, possession-based type of playing didn’t charm everyone.Some fanswere delighted with the so-called’Sarri-ball‘, while many Chelsea supporters found it unnecessary and tedious.The 62-year-old could be returning toelite soccer as there are many Serie A sides reportedly interested in his services as well.
Meanwhile, Tottenham confirmed former player Ryan Mason asinterim boss until the end of the season, meaning they don’t seem to be desperate to sign a coach immediately. The board is probably thinking in the long term, though, as from next season onwards Spurs have to start over again aiming to improve this campaign’s result.
