“The 29-year-old… has two more seasons left on his contract at a very reasonable $5-million per,” Simpson wrote via Seattle Hockey Insider. “Those are two very good reasons why the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/seattle-kraken" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Kraken</a> were telling teams, at least up until now, that they’re not parting with their lefty winger who can also play the middle.” A friendly contract in a versatile player is something that doesn’t come every day and the Kraken front office knows it.

The Florida Panthers‘ Stanley Cup conquests could never be explained without key contributions from several players. Unsung heroes, if you will. On that note, Zac Dalpe is one name that might not be etched in Lord Stanley, but <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/matthew-tkachuk">Matthew Tkachuk</a> and company know he deserves a share of the credit. Now, Dalpe has joined an NHL organization in a new role for the 2025-26 season.



Dalpe was mostly deployed with the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/florida-panthers">Panthers</a>‘ AHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers, but when his name was called in the NHL, he didn’t disappoint. The now-retired forward joined Tkachuk and the Cats during the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Though he didn’t play in the Calder Cup Playoffs, his team made it to the ultimate stage, where the Abbotsford Canucks prevailed.

A restricted free agent this offseason, Kakko can’t negotiate with other NHL teams yet. The <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/seattle-kraken">Kraken</a> recently extended him a qualifying offer, but his petition for league intermediation suggests it didn’t satisfy him.

“Over here, I feel there’s a good chance for me,” Kakko said about his change of scenery in January, via Nicholas J. <h2>Kappo, Kraken could still reach an agreement without the NHL’s intervention</h2>



Still, this doesn’t guarantee things will get ugly for Kappo in Seattle. Salary arbitration hearings won’t start before July 20, which gives the Kraken and the player plenty of time to find a solution without a third party.



In fact, filing for salary arbitration is often a mere tactic used by players to put pressure on their teams, pushing them to provide a fair contract before the NHL forces them to do so.

The Uxbridge, Ontario native tied a career high with 22 goals last season and totaled 47 points in just 62 games, proving his continued value as a middle-six contributor with upside.



<h2>Kraken fans made an impression</h2>



Seattle’s postseason run in 2023, where they upset the Colorado Avalanche and pushed the Stars to seven games, left a lasting impression on Marchment. “It was awesome,” he recalled. “The fan base sticks out instantly. It was rocking in there for three games. It was a hard building to play in, too.” Now, he’s eager to experience that energy from the home bench at Climate Pledge Arena.

Following the trade of Andre Burakovsky to Chicago, the door is open for Marchment to claim a top-six role, potentially giving him a larger spotlight as he enters the final year of his four-year, $18 million contract.



<h2>Seattle’s summer rebuild is far from over</h2>



The Kraken finished the 2024–25 season with a 35-41-6 record, landing near the bottom of the Pacific Division. With the additions of Marchment and Joe Veleno, and possibly more on the way, Seattle’s front office—led by GM Jason Botterill—is focused on adding experience and grit to a young roster.

The Chicago Blackhawks are determined to surround their franchise cornerstone with experienced players in hopes of avoiding a repeat of last season’s poor results. To that end, they acted quickly and completed a trade with the Seattle Kraken to bring in a former <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/stanley-cup" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Stanley Cup</a> champion.



Although <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/chicago-blackhawks" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Chicago</a> failed to make the playoffs, Bedard finished the year with standout performances, including a three-point night in the final game of the regular season. That game served as a reminder that the team needs more high-level talent to compete seriously. Adding a proven Stanley Cup winner could be a significant step in that direction.



Despite facing some criticism, the young Canadian tallied 23 goals and 44 assists across 82 games last season. His performance has room to grow, especially with the support of veteran leadership on a Chicago roster still working to prove it can rise to the challenge in the upcoming campaign.



<h2>The Blackhawks’ new veteran presence</h2>



Chicago acquired forward Andre Burakovsky from the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/seattle-kraken" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Seattle Kraken</a> in exchange for prospect Joe Veleno. Burakovsky, a two-time Stanley Cup champion (2018 and 2022), recorded 37 points (10 goals, 27 assists) in 79 games last season. At 30 years old, he carries a $5.5 million cap hit for each of the next two seasons.
