The Texas Longhorns started off the season on the right foot and have passed their early tests with flying colours. <h2>QB1 on Saturday remains a mistery</h2>



The Texas Longhorns will kick off their SEC schedule on September 28th when they host the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The Bulldogs announced freshman QB Michael Van Buren Jr will call the shots at the huddle. However, the biggest storyline ahead of the matchup remains unresolved.

The Texas Longhorns have a quarterback room even NFL teams could be jealous of. Everybody around the <a href="https://us.bolavip.com/nfl-t20281" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NFL</a> hoped and expected that a former college superstar quarterback would steal all the headlines with the <a href="https://us.bolavip.com/jacksonville-jaguars-t95239" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jacksonville Jaguars </a>this season. However, no one ever imagined that we could be talking about <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/jaguars-want-to-sign-tim-tebow-20210505-0003.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tim Tebow</a><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/jaguars-want-to-sign-tim-tebow-20210505-0003.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> </a>but hey, here we are.
Nearly a decade after playing his last snap in the league, the Florida standout has decided to make a comeback. More impressively, he’s finally accepted and embraced the fact that he won’t be playing quarterback and would need to move to the tight end spot.
However, what could’ve been a feel-good story about the former <a href="https://us.bolavip.com/denver-broncos-t99051" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Denver Broncos</a>‘ draft pick is now a huge controversy, as some NFL players believe that him getting another shot in the league is yet another example of white privilege.

<h2>Urban Meyer Says The Jaguars Haven’t Signed Tebow (Yet)</h2>
That’s why Jaguars new coach Urban Meyer – who happened to coach Tebow during his time with the Gators – had to clear the air in an interview with Cris Collinsworth, saying that the team hasn’t made a decision on signing him… yet:
“We have not signed Tim.There’s a thought going around. He was in the best shape of his life, asked to see if he could work out with a couple of our coaches. I wasn’t even there,” Meyer told Collinsworth.
“And they came back to me and said, ‘Wow, this guy’s in incredible shape.’ Then I went another time and watched them try him out. And they said, ‘Go work on these things.’ He comes back later. They try him out again, I’m not there. They came in and they said, ‘Wow. This guy’s ball skills. He’s a great athlete. He looks like he’s 18 years old not whatever he is, 33. And I said, ‘Guys, you don’t understand, now. This guy is, he’s the most competitive maniac you’re ever gonna talk to. And let’s give it a shot. And I have not decided if we’re gonna do that or not yet. Getting close. I gotta make a decision here pretty soon,“ he added.
To be fair, some players seem to have a valid point. Aldon Smith couldn’t make a comeback, neither could Collin Kaepernick, and Dez Bryant had a tough time getting teams to even work him out.

This is not a shot at Tim Tebow, who I believe is a good guy and has every right in the world to try and make a comeback and fulfill his dream but I get where the complaints are coming from, given how the league has dealt withblack athletes in the past.

For years, people around the league tried to convince Tebow to shift positions from quarterback to tight end. That, according to most experts, would’ve helped prolong his career in the league but he never wanted to give up on his dream.
That’s why it was so surprising to see that, 9 years after his last snap in the <a href="https://us.bolavip.com/nfl-t20281" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NFL</a> and after a failed stint with the <a href="https://us.bolavip.com/new-york-mets-t110386" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York Mets</a> farm system, the former Heisman winner has finally come to his senses and worked out as a tight end for the <a href="https://us.bolavip.com/jacksonville-jaguars-t95239" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jacksonville Jaguars.</a>

<h2>Tony Khan Says Urban Meyer Is Optimistic About Tim Tebow</h2>
The fact that he chose the Jaguars among all teams isn’t a coincidence, though, as he’s still a pretty popular figure there for his glorious days at the University of Florida where he was also coached by Meyer.
And, according to team owner’s son Tony Khan, the team has been quite impressed with Tebow’s workouts thus far, as he told Bleacher Report that they’re very likely to sign him as their new tight end:
“Tim has definitely come in and worked out,” Khan said. “So beyond that, I can’t say too much, but Tim has come in and worked out as a tight end. That’s not a position that we’ve seen him play, but it’s a position that he’s been practicing at with us. So that will be interesting to see how that contributes to us on offense, too. Obviously Urban knows Tim really well and Tim has got a great history of winning. Urban really believes he can help us, and I think it makes a lot of sense. And it’s a position where we need to get better.”

There’s no doubt that Tebow was one of the most disappointing players in NFL history. He dominated college football like no many other quarterbacks ever did. But he’s always been a nice guy, so all jokes aside, we’re actually rooting for him.
