Aaron Judge is the voice many want to hear after a blowout, especially one like the 12-1 defeat the Boston Red Sox recently handed the New York Yankees in a humiliating home situation. The team’s captain called on his teammates to play better.
The captain of the Bombers stated clearly that the problem isn’t with the coaches. “Coaches can’t fix that, fans can’t fix that, media can’t fix that,” he said. In a kind of warning, he added, “It’s the players in this room. We’ve got to step up.”
The reason behind Judge’s strong reaction is not just the home blowout but the fact that it was the eighth loss to the Red Sox this year, now another one in a series they had already lost but they will try to get at least one win tomorrow.
Judge Admits He’s Angry at the Situation with Boston
Regarding the Red Sox’s domination of the Yankees this season, Judge did not hesitate to say that things must improve, adding that he particularly has not liked how the team has confronted Boston lately.
“We’re definitely, I can only speak for myself, definitely angry,” Judge said about his frustration with the Red Sox and the recent 12-1 defeat. “Especially against your rivals, don’t like the showing we’ve had here at home.”
Another Yankee who had words similar to Judge’s was Giancarlo Stanton, the only player who could contribute a run during the blowout. About the team’s struggles against Boston this year, he said, “It’s not ideal. Unacceptable, we all know that. We’ve just got to get tomorrow.”
