Aaron Boone tries to calm the storm after Yankees’ 12-1 loss to Red Sox

A 12-1 defeat is not easy to swallow, but that was the final score of the blowout loss the New York Yankees suffered in Game 3, which sealed the series for the Boston Red Sox. In the wake of the loss, Aaron Boone tried to calm the situation with a clear message.

Aaron Boone once again watched the New York Yankees lose at home, struggle to score a single run, and drop the series to the Boston Red Sox. In an effort to calm frustrated fans, he stated that the team still has time to go far this year.

“We’re not running out of time,” Boone said about the Yankees’ situation. He also warned that things must improve, stating, “but if we don’t do better, then it’s going to fizzle out and we’re not going to get where we want to be,” but he did not point to any specific changes within the team.

The Yankees are now a bit behind the Red Sox, but as Boone says, it’s no time to give up. There is still time to reach the postseason, which remains the number one objective for him and a team going through a tough stretch this month.

Eight Consecutive Losses to the Red Sox

It might sound like a small number, but it’s a lot for the Yankees: all eight of those losses have come this year. They have managed to win only one game against their rivals, a very poor record for a team that started the year on the right foot but is now faring poorly.

Aaron Boone simply referred to losing the three games as an “unpleasant situation,” stating that the Yankees must improve against quality opponents in the division. It has been a very bad week for them overall, but he wants the team to work hard and try to win the final game against the Red Sox.

The Yankees’ Next Series

The Yankees came into this series on a five-game winning streak but are now in another losing streak—their second of August. After this series, they will stay home to host the Nationals and close out the month with a four-game series in Chicago against the White Sox.
