The Brooklyn Nets put together one of the most stacked teams in NBA history. They didn’t hesitate to risk their future to bring a championship to Barclays Center right now, and all eyes have been set on them since the start of last season.

Injuries, tough luck, and some off-court controversy have taken a toll on the Nets’ aspirations to dominate the Eastern Conference. But now that they’re healthy, they’re once again the team to beat in the league.

But even if they don’t succeed in their title aspirations, Nets superstar Kevin Durant claims that he’s no longer bothered or worried about the expectations. If anything, he just wants to play and have fun.

NBA News: Kevin Durant Isn’t Worried About The Nets’ Title Expectations

“Before, I used to worry about expectations, but now, I’m solidified and confident in what I bring,” Durant told The Ringer. “I just try to focus on me the most as I can, the best I can.Us winning a title, that would be amazing. That would be incredible. But that’s not the only reason why I play basketball.”

“I want to develop every day and I truly like this activity, you know what I’m saying?” Durant added. “I like getting up knowing that I’m going to go play, and that’s really it for me. The championship and scoring 30 and the level that I expect to be at, that’s because I work to get there, but I just simply like the activity.”

The Nets are peaking at the right time and now that Kyrie Irving will be eligible to play at home as well as on the road, they might as well end up winning the Larry O’Brien trophy. But if not, then KD is completely fine with it at this point in his career.
