Tom Brady is considered by most as not only the greatest quarterback in NFL history but also as one of the winningest people alive. He’s made a habit out of winning the Super Bowl and his legend seems to grow year after year.
Obviously, having Tom Brady on your team will enhance your roster and boost your chances of taking the Vince Lombardy trophy home. But, what if I told you that having him around will also help out other teams in your city?
According to a new conspiracy theory, sports championships seem to follow Tom Brady wherever he goes, and that’s not just in the NFL but also in the NBA, MLB, NHL, and even College Football.
Is Tom Brady A Lucky Charm? Conspiracy Theory Says So
Brady grew up in the Bay Area. Over that span (1977-95), the Oakland (now Las Vegas) Raiders won 2 Super Bowls, the Oakland Athletics won the World Series, and the San Francisco 49ers won 5 Super Bowls.
Since Brady left the state to go to college, none of those teams have won a championship. Then, while playing at Michigan (1995-99), the Detroit Red Wings won two Stanley Cups and the University of Michigan won the CFB National Championship.
Brady then left to play in the NFL and… Michigan hasn’t won another CFB Title. While he played for the New England Patriots (2000-2019), that team won six Super Bowl rings, the Boston Red Sox won 4 World Series, the Boston Bruins won the Stanley Cup, and the Boston Celtics won the NBA Championship. Before Brady got to the Boston area, not team in the city had won a title since 1986.
And now that Brady is at Tampa Bay (since 2020) the city has already won 3 titles, two Stanley Cups by the Tampa Bay Lightning and Super Bowl LV by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers… led by Tom Brady. Coincidence? You tell me.
