Jerry Jones has been through some very difficult weeks with the Dallas Cowboys, especially due to the controversy surrounding the negotiations with Micah Parsons for a contract extension.
That situation has fueled rumors that Parsons might not play against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1. However, Jones is not overly concerned ahead of that big matchup with the defending Super Bowl champions and was very clear about what Dak Prescott and the rest of the players will be facing.
“The world champions. You couldn’t start off any more challenging than that. Be at their home, all of it’s there. Philadelphia is always all that we can possible handle when we go up there. So, as far as I’m concerned, it’s a good way to start it out. We’ll get a real read on not necessarily the season, how the season is going to go, but it’ll be a real good solid test on how much progress we made in training camp.”
Who is favored to win in Cowboys vs Eagles?
The Philadelphia Eagles are seven-point favorites heading into the regular season opener against the Dallas Cowboys. The over/under is currently set at 46 points for the 2025 NFL Kickoff.
Despite all the spotlight that comes with visiting the champions at the start of the season, Jerry Jones tried to ease the pressure by pointing out that not everything is decided in Week 1, although, with the playoffs in mind, it could be a key matchup.
“Again, not to use a cliche, but, it’s one of 17 games. It counts in every way there is. Playing the world champions counts in the perception and of course counts in the division. It starts right off with all the marbles.”
