Five years ago, Cam Newton was at the top of the world. He was the best offensive player in the NFL, the MVP of the league, and it seemed like he was poised to finally win that much-awaited Super Bowl.
Then, the downfall happened. Newton’s questionable decisions put his body at risk and he just couldn’t be the same player or shake off injuries, up to the point where the Carolina Panthers eventually decided to part ways with him.
Finally humbled, Newton signed a one-year deal with the New England Patriots for a shot at redemption, following a couple of months without finding a new team. This time, he knew it was going to be his final chance.
Newton started off the season on a high note and showed glimpses of his former self, but once again, he regressed over the past couple of seasons. Now, he knows that the winning culture the team built over the past two decades will come back to haunt him unless he steps up again.

“Losing is not acceptable in this locker room. In this county, in this state, in this area, in this region. So, Cameron Newton, you need to pick your (expletive) up. That’s what I’ve learned,” Cam said in an interview when the media asked him what he’s learned from his brief time in New England.
Newton has always been a polarizing figure. His antics, eccentric attires, and the way he got into everybody’s face earned him a lot of detractors, so it’s not odd to see so many mixed reactions about his latest statement.

At the end of the day, true Patriots fans have no choice but to support Cam Newton as long as he’s under center for Bill Belichick’s team. He’s got the talent to lead the team back to the ultimate glory, but he, indeed, has to take his – expletive – up right now.
