Cassidy emphasized his vision for the Golden Knights to keep growing into a tougher opponent. “I think that’s going to be our goal for the next six weeks, to keep building it so that we’re a really tough team to play against,” he said after a dominant 4-0 victory over the Penguins.
That home win marked their third straight victory in March. Before this game, the Golden Knights had already defeated New Jersey 2-0 and Toronto 5-2, making for a strong start to the month—especially after opening February with two losses, a rare trend for a team used to starting months with multiple wins.
One key factor in their success, according to Cassidy, has been their rush game. “Our rush game has been good during the year, so teams are aware of that,” he noted. The coach believes improvements made during training camp are paying off, with the team’s execution reflecting the hard work put in by the entire staff.
Golden Knights Standing Strong Like a Brick Wall
For now, Vegas holds a near-certain playoff spot. They sit atop the Western Pacific Division with 80 points, boasting a 37-18 record through 61 games. Trailing them are the Edmonton Oilers with 74 points and the Los Angeles Kings with 71.
Upcoming Games for the Golden Knights
March has started with an intriguing stretch for Vegas, featuring four straight home games. The final matchup in that run will be against the Kings, who handed them a 5-2 loss in February. However, the Golden Knights dominated Los Angeles in their previous home meeting back in October, winning 6-1.
Following this homestand, Vegas will embark on a similar four-game stretch on the road, beginning with a rematch against Pittsburgh before facing Columbus, Buffalo, and Detroit.
